GRACE & GRIT
At the studio we ended 2023 with a Christmas Eve yoga class talking about grace. We listened to “Silent Night” in our opening meditation and in our closing meditation reflected on “The dawn of redeeming grace.”
As we enter into 2024 with our goals and wellness intensions, let’s all remember to have “redeeming grace” on ourselves and loved ones. Grace is reframing. Grace is forgiveness (within and with others). Grace lightens the load so you can get up and try again.
Tip for staying with your goals:
Move forward with grace and grit. Holding onto mistakes, regret, guilt, and failure is baggage that we create and perpetuate in our own minds. Learn from the mistakes and move forward.
The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali by Sri Swami Satchidananda - Book 1 Sutra 32
“The practice of concentration on a single subject is the best way to prevent the obstacles and their accompaniments.”
The author continues on after this statement: “There’s no value in digging shallow wells in a hundred places. Decide on one place and dig deep. Even if you encounter a rock, use dynamite and keep going down.”
I know many of us have more than one well project going at this time of our lives but I use this sutra as an example for my least favorite well (most difficult tasks, or challenging goal.s). Stay in it!
Stay in it. Set intensions, set goals, start digging wells, and revisiting old ones and remember to have grace and grit.
Sending light & love from the insideout,
Kim
